Firstly, a little something about Double the Slice!
'Hi, I'm Carly, the face behind Double the Slice!
What started as a little love of baking has grown into my very own home-based cake business, creating homemade cakes, cookies and sweet treats for my lovely customers.
As a military family, I wanted to find a way to earn an income whilst still being there for my family, especially for my two little ones, Poppy and George. Double the Slice has given me the opportunity to do just that, whilst doing something I genuinely love.
From celebration cakes and bakes for special occasions to the goodies you'll find in my Cake Shed, everything is made by me with lots of care (and probably far too much butter!).
Double the Slice is all about homemade, delicious treats made with love - whether you're popping by the Cake Shed for a weekend treat or ordering something special, I hope you enjoy every bite.

Three layers of light, sweet, carrot packed sponge warmed with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Layered and coated in a creamy vanilla rich buttercream, decorated with a dusting of coco powder, carrot twirls and white flowers.

Zesty Lemon and Poppy Seed Cake
Three layers of zesty lemon and poppy seed sponge, sandwiched and coated with lashings of zingy lemon curd and rich lemon buttercream, finished with decorative piping and a sprinkle of poppy seeds.

Traditional Victoria Sponge
Three layers of light vanilla sponge, sandwiched and coated with lashings of sweet strawberry jam and creamy vanilla buttercream, finished with decorative piping and fresh strawberries.

Three layers of light coffee flavoured sponge, stacked and dressed with a sweet caramel sauce and a smooth coffee buttercream, finished with caramel sauce, white chocolate stars and a hint of milk chocolate

All bespoke cakes are ordered via consultation. Please message me via email or WhatsApp with your ideas and the date you require your cake. Based on your requirements the cake will be priced, and discussed with you. Payment will be required in full to secure your booking.

Make your event extra special by hiring a selection of vintage 'mix up tea cups & saucers, cake plates, tea pots, milk jugs and sugar bowls to sit next to your chosen cake, scones and biscuits. Prices start from £13.00 per person. Please contact for further details

We offer "Happy Birthday", "Happy Mothers Day", "Dad", "Thank you" and "Happy Easter". These will also work as bespoke, so lets chat flavours and colours.
